About The Faculty Academy: Empowering Education
Our Mission
Faculty Academy is a cross-institutional, cross-disciplinary group of teacher educators/researchers spanning post-doctoral, clinical, and tenure track positions. The group was established and championed by Dr. Cheryl Craig (Texas A & M University) in 2002 with support from the Houston Annenberg Challenge (now known as the A+ Challenge). Although the Faculty Academy is now formally disassociated from these roots, it retains the joint purpose of “promoting teacher/professor learning and breaking down barriers of isolation between schools and universities.”
